Meet our team

Jason Herrick

President

Jason Herrick is the president of Pantera Energy Company.  Prior to Pantera Energy Company, Jason helped start e2i, a small consulting firm based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  He established business offices in Amsterdam and London while working with large banking clients ING and BBL on procurement management systems. Early in his career he worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Dallas, TX where he specialized in procurement and materials management.  He worked for clients such as CITGO in Tulsa, Minyards in Dallas, and Mrs. Smith’s Bakery in Atlanta.  Jason graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.

Jason is very active in our Amarillo community.  He currently serves as an executive member of the Amarillo Area Foundation and Don Harrington Discovery Center boards.  He has previously served terms as president of Center City of Amarillo, the Panhandle Producers and Royalty Association, Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Texas Panhandle Regional Economic Development Corporation as well as leadership roles in several other area non-profits.  He is also a Sunday School teacher at Hillside Christian Church.

He has been recognized as the Top Twenty Under 40 by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and the 2011 Boss of the Year by the Panhandle Desk and Derrick.

Scott Herrick

Founder, Vice President

Scott is Vice President of Pantera Energy Company. Scott founded the company in 1982 and built the business through drilling new wells and acquisition of producing oil & gas properties. He previously worked for Sun Oil Company, Texas Oil & Gas and Search Drilling Company in various engineering capacities. Scott holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Kaleen Reyna

Vice President of Finance

Kaleen Reyna is the Director of Finance and Accounting with Pantera Energy, based in Amarillo, TX.  Kaleen is a Certified Public Accountant who joined Pantera in 2015.  She is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for Pantera as well as several related entities. She also maintains a close working relationship with Pantera’s local bank. Kaleen began her career in the oil and gas industry in 2003 as an oil and gas accountant with Merit Energy in Dallas, TX.  Kaleen attended the University of North Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. 

Brooks Gentry

Vice President of Engineering

Brooks is the Vice President of Engineering at Pantera Energy Company.  He worked for Noble Energy, Inc. prior to joining Pantera in 2008.  His responsibilities at Pantera include reservoir, drilling, completion and production engineering; as well as project supervision in the field.  Brooks started his career as a Production Engineer at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and worked in both the Amarillo and Houston offices.  He then went to work as an Operations Engineer at Patina Oil & Gas in Canadian, Texas prior to Patina being acquired by Noble Energy, Inc.  He holds a B.S in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.  He is a past Chairman of the Amarillo Petroleum section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.

Neil Baileys

Vice President of Operations

Neil Baileys is the Vice President of Operations for Pantera Energy Company. Neil has 25 years of oil and gas exploration and production experience in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.  Neil began his career as a lease operator in 1995 with Chaparral Energy, LLC where he operated water and CO2 floods along with various types of gas well operations.  He then began work for Patina Oil and Gas in 2003 in the Texas Panhandle operating the newly discovered Granite Wash play.  Neil transitioned to Noble Energy, Inc in 2005 as a Sr. Production Foreman with the acquisition of Patina Oil and Gas where he continued to supervise the production operations in the Texas panhandle. Neil began employment in September 2012 and currently oversees the daily production and operations for Pantera Energy Company.

 

Christen Lacewell

Vice President of Land

Christen is the Vice President of Land at Pantera Energy Company.  Prior to joining Pantera, Christen worked for Encana Oil & Gas for 10 years based out of Denver, CO.  She has worked federal, state, and privately-owned mineral interests throughout Wyoming and Texas.  She is a Certified Professional Landman (CPL) with the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL).  Christen holds a B.B.A. from Texas Tech University in Energy Commerce.
